SEGUIN, Texas - Hilary Wagner scored for Concordia Texas with less than eight minutes to play and lifted the Tornados to a 3-2 road win over Texas Lutheran on Saturday.
At TLUís Gustafson Field, Wagner broke a 2-2 tie with a goal at the 82:24 mark. The goal was unassisted.
Concordia Texas improved to 4-4-3 overall and to 3-4-1 in the American Southwest Conference.
TLU dropped to 3-5-2 overall and to 1-3-2 in the ASC.
The Bulldogs took a quick 1-0 lead. With 24 seconds elapsed in the match, Sunny Valencia put a shot into the back of the net. Tori Martinez assisted on the Valencia goal.
Concordia tied the match at 1-1 with a goal in the 32nd minute by Lya Morfitt. Dalaine Whitlock delivered the assist.
The Tornados took their first lead of the match with an unassisted goal at the 47:50 mark by Rose Cutrer.
TLUís Marlena Ashby tied the match at 2-2 with a goal at 71:27. The Ashby goal was unassisted.
TLU out-shot Concordia 14-10. Teysha Sivage made eight saves for Concordia. Ashby recorded four saves for TLU, and Kim Myhre added two saves.
