Softball concludes year with split at Schreiner

KERRVILLE, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran Bulldogs collected a softball split Saturday in American Southwest Conference play against Schreiner University. TLU took game one 4-1 and lost game two 13-0 in Kerrville, Texas.
Schreiner's Patsy Toman nearly no-hit TLU in the second game. Toman finished with a one-hitter in the 13-0 game that lasted just five innings. TLU's lone hit went to senior catcher Alison Organ (Houston/Westfield).
In game one, TLU posted the win behind freshman pitcher Brigitte Neumann, who tossed a complete-game four-hitter. Neumann (San Antonio/Incarnate Word H.S.) improved to 5-11 overall.
Melissa Stewart (Katy/Morton Ranch), Natalie Suciu (San Antonio/Marshall), Nicole Hatly (Katy/Taylor) and Victoria Santos (Pflugerville/Hendrickson) each had RBI for TLU in game one.
TLU finished the season with an overall mark of 12-26 and with a conference record of 7-17.
Schreiner finished ASC West play with a 15-9 record. Schreiner's overall record moved to 26-13.
