After graduating from TLU, Tony Vasquez spent several years organizing in communities of color across the United States. His talk will include personal stories of his experiences in the field as well as an overview of the theory and practice that guides community organizing. Hosted by the TLU Mexican-American Studies Center, Center for Servant Leadership, and VISTA Partnership for a Better Seguin. Free and open to the public.
Join the Center for Servant Leadership on a short trip to the Warbler Woods Nature Preserve in Cibolo. We will leave campus at 2 p.m. and return around 6 p.m. Warbler Woods is a popular destination for birdwatchers, and we will learn more about the preserve as well as help with some service projects such as trail maintenance and cedar clearing.
