Faculty Positions
Full-Time Tenure-Track Position in Management/Marketing
Texas Lutheran University (TLU) invites applications for a tenure-track management/marketing position in the Department of Business Administration and Economics to begin August 2010.
Requirements for the position include: PhD in a business discipline with the ability to teach marketing and management courses (18 graduate hours in each) (ABD may be considered); ability to teach a variety of undergraduate level management/marketing courses including Advertising, Principles of Marketing, Business Communication, Principles of Management, Human Resource Management, Entrepreneurship, and/or Ethics; strong commitment to excellence in the teaching and advising of undergraduate students; commitment to university/community service and continued professional development; affirmation of the mission of TLU. Preference may be given to candidates who can also offer a minimum of two years teaching experience; ability and desire to contribute to additional dimensions of the university’s academic program, such as the General Education Curriculum or the International Education Program

Texas Lutheran University invites applications for a tenure-track position in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, to begin August 2010.
Requirements for the position include a Ph.D. in mathematics by date of appointment; a strong commitment to excellence in the teaching and advising of undergraduate students; ability to teach a wide range of introductory and advanced courses in the undergraduate mathematics curriculum. Candidates should have a commitment to mentor students in an undergraduate research program; commitment to continued professional development; affirmation of the mission of Texas Lutheran University, a nationally recognized university of the liberal arts, sciences, and professional studies. Preference may be given to candidates who have qualifications to teach introductory courses in a related field such as statistics and have the ability and willingness to contribute to additional dimensions of the college’s academic program, such as general education or international education.
The Department offers B.A. and B.S. degrees in Mathematics. The individual who joins us this year will, because we are a small department, have the opportunity to teach a variety of mathematics courses and to contribute to the overall direction of the department.

Full-Time Tenure-Track Position in Art Texas Lutheran University invites applications for a tenure-track, full-time position in art at the assistant professor level, to begin August 2010. The position requires active participation and excellence in teaching introductory and upper level art classes as well as studio. An ideal candidate will be prepared to teach multi-media classes to include drawing, design, three- dimensional arts, and applied computer technology.
Requirements for this position include a terminal degree in art (MFA); a commitment to excellence and innovation in teaching undergraduate visual art; a commitment to curriculum development, course evaluation, and program revision to meet changing demands for art majors. Candidates should have a commitment to advising and the university’s general curriculum, to working collegially with other faculty members and staff in the department and across campus. We also expect a commitment to the mission of Texas Lutheran University. Preference may be given to candidates who can also contribute expertise to the University’s interdisciplinary programs such as International Studies, African American Studies, or Mexican American Studies.

Head Tennis Coach Texas Lutheran University, an NCAA Division III school in the American Southwest Conference, invites applications for a regular full-time head coach for men’s and women’s tennis to begin on June 1, 2010.
Position requirements include: - Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution; master’s degree preferred
- Two (2) years coaching experience

The Head Tennis Coach reports to the Director of Athletics and has full responsibility for all functions related to the program, including but not limited to, recruitment, budget preparation, scheduling, and travel arrangements. Additional duties may be performed in one or more of the following areas: teaching, administration, or assisting with another sport.
