First Year Experience & Student Transitions Intern
Texas Lutheran University invites applications for an intern with the office of First Year Experience & Student Transitions intern. This position works as part of a team to support the success of first-year students and special populations.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide leadership with the TLU First Generation (Gen) Program:
- Facilitate First Gen planning meetings
- Support students in preparing for First Gen programs
- Assist in hosting First Gen programs
- Participate in First Gen Forward meetings and professional development
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, enrollment in a Master’s degree program in Student Personnel, Curriculum & Instruction, Student Affairs, Higher Education, Counseling or related field.
- One year part-time, graduate assistantship, or student leadership experience working in Student Affairs.
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others or in a team
- Ability to work with ethnic, cultural and socially diverse student and faculty populations
- Excellent interpersonal skills to represent the Division of Student Affairs and the University with enthusiasm and effectiveness
- Proficiency in software experience: MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Canva, Zoom, social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook
Compensation is based on a 135-hour internship. $1,500 stipend and $150 Bulldog Bucks
