First-Year Affordability Scholarships
Our first-year academic scholarships range from $20,000 to $25,000 per year or $80,000 to $100,000 over four years
At TLU, you'll receive a small, personalized college education that is affordable and competitive with tuition at large public institutions. High school students applying for fall 2025 are eligible for the following scholarships:
Recalculated GPA
(Core Academic Courses) | Academic Scholarship | Tuition After Academic Scholarship |
---|---|---|
4.0 and above | $25,000 | $12,000 |
3.70-3.99 | $22,000 | $15,000 |
3.69 and below | $20,000 | $17,000 |
Academic Scholarships are renewable for up to three years (a total of four years) based on continued full-time enrollment and a cumulative GPA of 2.0 earned at TLU.
SAT/ACT Awards
If you take the SAT and score 1100 or above, or the ACT and score 22 or above, you will want to submit your test score to earn an additional $1,000 to $3,000 depending on your score. The SAT/ACT award of $1,000-$3,000 is in addition to your Academic Scholarship (Heritage, Academic Excellence, or Presidential). For students enrolling in the fall 2025, test scores must be received by June 1, 2025, to be eligible for a SAT/ACT award.
Admissions Review Process
Holistic Review Process
While the academic scholarships we award are based on core academic GPA, the TLU Office of Admissions draws upon a holistic review process when reviewing and making admissions decisions. The holistic review allows us to look beyond grades and test scores to get a sense of what the applicant is like as a person and what they would contribute to the TLU community.
Scholarship Requirements
Students must be accepted at TLU in order to be considered for a scholarship and must enroll full-time in order to receive and renew the award. Grant and scholarship aid (federal, state and external) when combined with TLU awards may not exceed the cost of attendance for the year which you are applying. Academic, performance and participation awards in combination, where applicable, may not exceed the cost of full-time tuition for the year which you are applying for aid.
A range of academic scholarships are awarded based on high school academic performance. Scholarships are renewable for up to an additional three years provided the student maintains a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA at TLU. These scholarships are awarded based on full-time, undergraduate enrollment.
Other Scholarships & Awards
We offer additional scholarship opportunities on top of our academic scholarships.
