Biography
Originally from Corpus Christi, David Milburn is the Assistant Principal Bass of the San Antonio Symphony and instructor of double bass at Texas Lutheran University. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California under the guidance of David Moore and his other teachers include Dennis Whittaker and Bruce Bransby.
Mr. Milburn has performed with the Atlanta, Alabama, Austin, and Cincinnati Symphonies and at festivals such as the Aspen Music Festival and Pacific Music Festival in Japan. He was also the Principal Bass of the YouTube Symphony 2011 in Sydney, Australia. In addition to teaching at TLU, he also coaches the Youth Orchestras of San Antonio, and has a studio of private students.
