Jeff Haley’s been busy since earning his accounting degree from TLU in 1992. These days, he’s serving as the President of Si Environmental—a company that is now one of the leading residential water and wastewater facility operations companies in the Houston area. Haley has almost thirty years of experience in the industry, and on Friday, February 28, he’ll be returning to his alma mater to share his story and to offer tips to those just starting out.
“I am excited about being back on campus,” he says. “It’s honor to be able to share my career path experiences as well as insight on building a business.”
Si Environmental, built by Haley from scratch in 2012, went from being nonexistent to being a $10 million business in a matter of six months. Since then, it hasn’t stopped growing—now being worth some $90 million with over 350 employees. But Haley didn’t start out in the water business. From 1992 to 2006, he worked in the golf field. He chose to take a different path in order to spend more time with his family.
That family includes wife of twenty-nine years, Cindy, and two sons—Nathan, who graduated TLU in 2021 (both father and son played golf for the university, and Haley still supports the program), and Cameron, who’ll be graduating Texas A&M in May. The family resides in Richmond, Texas.
Haley isn’t one for being idle, so when he’s not at work or home, he has found plenty of ways to serve his community. Currently, he’s the Board Chair of OakBend Hospital, a board member of the West Fort Bend Water Authority, Vice Chair of Greater Fort Bend Economic Development Council transitioning to Fort Bend Partnership, and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Finance Committee and the Woods Edge HOA.
As busy as he is, it’s been a while since he’s been back on the TLU campus, and he’s excited to stroll the grounds and see what’s changed.
You can catch his talk on Friday, February 28, at 1 p.m. in Tschoepe Hall’s Dunne Conference Center—when students will have the chance to ask questions and get guidance from one Bulldog to another.
