Texas Lutheran University welcomes Chris Mueller as its new Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations.
“It’s very exciting to have Chris Mueller join us at TLU and provide leadership for our development, alumni, advancement, and overall philanthropic efforts,” said Dr. Debbie Cottrell, university president. “Chris’s wide-ranging experiences in development work, along with his ties to Texas and to the Lutheran church, make him an ideal person for this role. I know that he’s eager to bring his best to TLU and to be an active and engaged member of our community. We welcome Chris and Lynnea!”
Mueller comes to TLU from the College of St. Scholastica in Minnesota, where he served as the vice president for college advancement. Prior to that, he’d held positions at the University of Wisconsin and Briar Cliff University, among others.
“I am excited to return to my native Texas and to be part of the Texas Lutheran community,” said Mueller. “TLU has an amazing mission. While there are many challenges in higher education, there are also many opportunities. TLU is uniquely positioned to adapt to an ever-changing landscape. I am looking forward to working with our alumni and donors to raise TLU to new heights.”
Mueller earned his BS at Stephen F. Austin State University and his MBA at the University of South Alabama. With more than fifteen years of experience in senior leadership roles in higher education, Mueller will lead TLU’s fundraising efforts and oversee alumni relations in his new role. He and wife Lynnea live in Seguin and have two grown children.
