Those interested in working in the field of education—even if they don’t plan to become teachers—are invited to an Education Career Fair at Texas Lutheran University on April 23. Numerous area school districts will be on hand with various types of jobs to fill, so students of all majors and jobseekers of all kinds are encouraged to attend. Event-goers can also learn more about TLU’s alternative certification program while at the fair.
“The TLU Education Fair is a great opportunity for our students and community members with various backgrounds and skillsets to learn about part-time and full-time positions available within a school district or other organizations that provide support for our youth,” says Dr. Donna Kubena, Director of Field Experience and Student Teachers and Director of the Alternative Certification Program at TLU. “We will also have information about the TLU Alternative Certification Program for anyone with a bachelor's degree who would like to learn about the process to become a certified teacher. Our goal for having the Education Career Fair is to provide a space that allows our students and community members to gain access to the possibilities for part-time and full-time positions, while also supporting our partner districts and organizations that will be represented at the fair.”
Present at the fair will be: ATPE (Association of Texas Professional Educators), Great Hearts Academies, New Braunfels Christian Ministry, and ISDs including Bastrop, Comal, East Central, Gonzales, La Grange, La Vernia, Luling, Marion, Navarro, Nixon-Smiley, Northeast, Pflugerville, Pleasanton, Randolph Field, San Marcos, Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City, Seguin, Southwest Preparatory School District, Waelder, and Weimer.
The career fair will take place on Wednesday, April 23, from 1–3:30 p.m. in Tschoepe Hall's Dunne Conference Center (Room 115) on the TLU campus.
