This spring during the TLU Baseball Senior Night and Banquet, senior pitcher Brendan Beard was presented with the Mark Love Baseball Award. The award honors the legacy of former TLU Baseball player Mark Love ’80, who passed away in 2020 after a battle with cancer. It was presented by his wife Leslie Love ’81 and Board of Regents member Tony Canty ’83.
Named for Mark Love, who was known for his leadership, charm, resilience, and dependability, this award celebrates those who lead by example, just as Mark did. Beard’s stellar performance and leadership both on and off the field embody that same spirit. He has shown exceptional leadership throughout his time at TLU, demonstrating not only athletic skill but also outstanding personal qualities that inspire everyone around him.
TLU congratulates Beard on this well-deserved recognition.
