New Student Snapshot: Mikayla Jordan

TLU extends a warm welcome to incoming freshman Mikayla Jordan! A New Braunfels native, she chose TLU “because of the family-like atmosphere and because I know several TLU alumni that had so many good things to say about the school,” she says.

Jordan plans to major in biology—but that’s just the beginning. “After I graduate, I want to work for the Texas Bureau of Investigation in their DNA crime lab with the hopes to eventually work for the FBI and get a doctorate in Criminal Justice.”

A fitting career path for the globetrotting Jordan, who’s traveled to over 20 different countries and has a soft spot for Scotland. Another interesting fact: she’s been treading the boards for most of her life. “I have been doing theater since I was four and I have been in over 20 productions across several different companies,” she says. “Theater was a great outlet for me to find who I am and grow in confidence.”

Once settled at TLU, she’s most looking forward to making new friends and learning from a host of amazing professors. We think she’ll be right at home here! Welcome, Mikayla!
