Tax season is upon us—and that means Texas Lutheran University’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Clinic is once again open for business.
The clinic will be open to the public every Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. and every Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon, from January 29 through April 12 with the exceptions of the days that fall during Spring Break (March 8, 12, and 15).
There is no charge to get your taxes done, but to qualify for the clinic, total household income cannot exceed $67,000. Taxpayers should bring a photo ID, Social Security card, and all tax forms. If they are filing a joint return, both spouses must be present to sign the return. If they have dependents they wish to claim, they must also bring the Social Security cards of those individuals.
To participate, taxpayers should line up in their cars on Beck Street from Court Street. Student volunteers will greet them in turn and direct them to the parking lot as they assist each taxpayer.
