Texas Lutheran University Earns Spot on Phi Theta Kappa’s Transfer Honor Roll

Texas Lutheran University has been named to Phi Theta Kappa’s Transfer Honor Roll again this year—and is one of only 228 colleges and universities nationwide to hold that distinction.

The honor roll recognizes institutions that ease the process of admission for students transferring in from other schools. Some of the key metrics used to determine excellence are admission practices, financial aid, campus life, and degree completion.

“The goal of most students attending community college is earning a bachelor’s degree, but few do because of financial barriers and the complexity of the transfer process,” says Dr. Lynn Tincher-Ladner, President and CEO of Phi Theta Kappa. “We are proud to recognize the exceptional colleges and universities that go above and beyond to create accessible pathways to bachelor’s degree completion for community college transfer students.”

“This recognition reaffirms our commitment in creating a smooth transition to TLU for community college students,” says TLU Director for Transfer and Graduate Admissions Elliot Powell. “TLU's staff and faculty will continue to work together to ensure that we provide personalized support to meet the needs of community college transfer students during their time at TLU.”

Phi Theta Kappa is made up of more than 4.3 million members around the world, and is the first honor society recognizing the academic achievement of students at associate degree-granting colleges and helping them to grow as scholars and leaders. This marks the 6th year the society has named TLU to its Transfer Honor Roll.
