Texas Lutheran University Director of Sports Information and Sports Marketing Bryce Hayes has been awarded a spot in the College Sports Communicators 30 Under 30 Class of 2024.
This is the third year since the award’s inception, and it has quickly become one of the most meaningful honors attainable for young communications and creative professionals in the world of college sports.
“The remarkable individuals recognized in the CSC Under 30 Class of 2024 represent a diverse and talented group of young professionals working in sports communications today,” says 2024-25 CSC President Kevin Trainor. “This distinguished list of honorees features outstanding sports communicators from throughout our membership. Their innovative approach to blending traditional communications methods with content creation, social media, and other emerging technologies will allow us to effectively connect with our audiences while also helping to shape the future of our organization and our profession.”
“This is a well-deserved honor for Bryce,” says TLU Director of Athletics Bill Miller. “He has made a significant positive impact on TLU Athletics and has helped to effectively transition us into the age of social media. He understands and embraces the importance of his role as the promoter of TLU Athletics. He connects well with our student-athletes and also with our student spectator population. His role is critical in representing the success of our student-athletes, teams, and coaches. He has gained valuable experience while at TLU and has done a great job of keeping TLU Athletics in the public eye.”
Under Hayes’s leadership, TLU was named the Sports Information Department of the Year by the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference for 2022-23, and this year, Hayes was awarded the NCAA Inclusion CSC UNITE Convention Grant. He also served as SCAC SID Chair in 2023-24. In his fourth year in the TLU sports information and marketing department, Hayes serves as the primary contact for all 19 of TLU’s sports.
"I'm blessed to continue to represent Texas Lutheran on the national stage between this honor and the NCAA Inclusion Grant this past summer,” says Hayes. “While I am the one being honored it’s a credit to our staff on the work we've put in within our department over my tenure. I’ve been blessed to be put in situations to succeed from a young age on and off the field as a former student-athlete myself, and I've tried to faithfully walk the path God has set out for me. I'm grateful to Rhodes College for starting this journey and AD Miller, Dr. Cottrell, and Texas Lutheran for taking a chance on me during the pandemic."
Candidates for the 30 Under 30 recognition were considered based on achievement in areas such as professional success, impact on their athletic department or conference office, and service to CSC. This year, the 30 honorees were selected from a record 176 nominees.
