TLU Welcomes New VP for Marketing and Communications

Texas Lutheran University has named Susan Rinn as its new Vice President for Marketing and Communications.

“Susan’s years of dedication to TLU, strong professional training and experience, and overall understanding of today’s marketing needs in higher education make her an ideal candidate to serve as TLU’s Vice President for Marketing and Communications and Chief Marketing Officer,” says TLU President Dr. Debbie Cottrell. “I look forward to seeing her leadership and contributions to TLU continue, and I’m very grateful to have her in this role.”

Rinn holds a BA from Southwestern University and earned her master’s in mass communications from Emerson College in Boston.

Since coming to TLU, Rinn has served as Director of Jackson Auditorium, Director of Marketing and Special Events, Assistant Vice President for University Relations, Assistant Vice President for Strategic Planning and Administration, Director of University Events, and Executive Assistant to the President. Most recently, she held the Interim Vice President for Marketing and Communications position, making her an ideal fit for her new role as the permanent VP.

“After serving in a variety of roles at TLU over the years, many of them in the marketing and communications sector, it’s great to be back in a field that I love,” says Rinn. “The TLU marketing team is incredibly talented, and I feel blessed to be working with such a creative and energetic group of professionals.”

In addition to her career at TLU, Rinn has been active and taken on leadership roles in numerous local organizations, including the Seguin Commission on the Arts, the Historic Texas Theatre, St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, the Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Mid-Texas Symphony, among others.

As Vice President for Marketing and Communications, Rinn will lead the university’s rebranding process as well as all its marketing efforts, and she’s ready to get to work. “I look forward to seeing how much we can accomplish as we work to promote this truly special university.”
