International Studies Degree Program
International studies programs can help prepare you for the rigors of working and thriving in our increasingly interdependent economy. TLU offers coursework designed to teach you to think critically and expand your worldview by examining other cultures, practices, and governments.
Students in our international studies program may benefit from taking courses in one of TLU’s related programs such as World Languages & Cultures, International Business, or Political Science.
The cornerstone of TLU's international studies program is the opportunity to study abroad. Study abroad programs allow students the unique opportunity to fully immerse themselves in another culture by living, studying, and sometimes working in another country.
TLU has study abroad programs with 140 universities in 46 countries on 6 continents. Students can participate in service learning opportunities, internships, and summer terms, in addition to their coursework.
At TLU, you will have many opportunities to broaden your horizons on campus and beyond. Our comprehensive International Education Office helps students plan their education abroad by discussing international studies programs in other countries, guiding course selection, providing cultural and educational support, and aiding in students’ return to campus life.
Students in International Studies also have the opportunity to participate in cultural organizations and events on campus, seek internships in the community, and participate in research projects led by the international studies faculty.
