Our Alumni - Where They Are Now
"The small community and intimate atmosphere at Texas Lutheran University made a huge impact on my personal and professional growth today. The relationships and memories that were created will last a lifetime."
- Cedric Whitaker, 2015 TLU graduate and Assistant Special Teams Coach for the Carolina Panthers
Hands-on Learning & Research Opportunities
TLU's Kinesiology students use our motion analysis equipment in the Kieffer Kinesiology Lab for exercise testing, writing exercise prescriptions, and creating personal fitness regimens for faculty, staff, and students. Students also work with professors as lab assistants on major research projects and then present their research at regional conferences such as the Texas American College of Sports Medicine conference.
During the last semester of their senior year, Kinesiology students take a capstone course that is a culmination of their experience at TLU. The course (KINS 434) includes the application of knowledge learned in the discipline and a reflection on leadership and service. Students demonstrate knowledge and ability in written and oral communication, ethical reasoning, and research presentation skills appropriate for a graduating senior.
TLU offers a Pickleball class at Seguin's new Pickleball courts about one mile from campus. The complex features nine tournament ready courts with LED lighting. Courts are open from 8 am to 10 pm daily and available on a first come first served basis. |
Kinesiology Students in the Community
The Introduction to Adaptive Physical Education course (KINS 232) provides opportunities for students to develop competencies for teaching physical education to persons with disabilities.
